As I'm sure you've already heard, and perhaps you're tired of hearing, we've had our fair share of sickness around the house. We moved here to Idaho at the end of December, and since then, my boys have been sick three times. When I say sick I mean more than just a little sniffle. Blake is overly prone to getting the croup. Every time he get any sort of cold or cough, it settles right in his voice box and he gets the croup. It's terrible. He panics because he feels like it's hard to breathe Read more [...]
When I was a kid, I always knew that cold weather was around the corner when my mom made this soup. It wasn't an immediate favorite as a kid, weird, I know, but then we started dipping in tortilla chips instead of saltine crackers and it quickly became one of my favorite's. We're at a balmy mid 30's while my friends in St. Louis freeze in -10 degrees! I'm definitely Read more [...]
Smokey Black Bean & Sweet Potato Chili with fresh limes. It really does taste as delicious as it sounds. When one of my dear friends had surgery a few weeks ago, I offered to bring her dinner. She was a little hesitant since her family is mostly vegetarian and gluten free. Of course I didn't let that stop me, and I came up with this incredible chili. Yes, I can be a little prideful, and this chili is certainly something I am very proud of!
It's completely gluten free and vegetarian, Read more [...]
