Sometimes I get on food kicks. Some people call them cravings but I call them food kicks. However, usually I get a craving, and then it turns into a food kick and I have to make it several times in a short amount of time. My latest food kick is Buffalo Chicken. For some reason the spicy, creamy, full of flavor chicken just keeps calling my name. I was so thrilled when I made this for dinner during the Superbowl and now I'm craving it again.

Pico de Gallo, or Salsa Fresca is pretty much amazing. There are lots of ways to make Pico and many variations depending on what flavors you prefer. For me, I like to keep it simple. Tomatoes, onion, garlic, fresh cilantro, and fresh lime plus a generous sprinkle of course sea salt.
This salsa stinks up my kitchen table and fridge in a very, very, delicious way.The combination of fresh ingredients and aromas is incredible. I like to make it a couple hours in advance of serving it because Read more [...]
For those of you who keep up with my blog regularly, if there are any of you out there, you may have noticed me posting recipes quite frequently that you have already seen on Eat It & Say Yum. I've been working to get all my content transferred over, so that's why you've seen the same (or similar) photos and text that is weeks and months past.

I love cheesecake. I love pumpkin. I love candied pecans. Why not put them all together in this Pumpkin Cheesecake Dip with Candied Pecans?
Leia and I had a blast creating this dip. We started off by making a delicious batch of her Soft & Chewy Ginger cookies. While those were cooling and our attempts at keeping our children's grabby hands away were failing, we threw together a few things in a bowl and created some Pumpkin Cheesecake dip.
It was good, but didn't have that wow factor Read more [...]
This is one of my favorite caramel dips of all time. It is really simple, easy, and comes together in about five minutes. I haven't met anyone who didn't like it. This caramel is not too thick and not too thin. If dipping apples is not your thing, try it as a caramel sauce over ice cream, brownies, or with other foods like pretzels.
You'll notice in the recipe that it calls for margarine instead of butter. This is very uncharacteristic of me. And there is an explanation for it. For whatever Read more [...]
If you've ever visited or lived in Utah, you know what Wingers restaurant is. If you've ever tried their classic, original, wings, you know what this sauce tastes like. This recipe is all over the place but originally for me, it came from a friend of mine who is from Utah. I don't know who came up with the first original, or if it was given out by Wingers, but it's a pretty common recipe.
This is one sauce that is straight up perfect without my own changes or flair. Every once in awhile Read more [...]
Since both of our husband's are in school and often have late nights at the clinic, studying, or working, Leia and I enjoy getting together and making something to eat. One night I was at her house and we were working on a new cheesecake and while it was cooking all the kids started getting hungry. Ya know, the whining, the crying, the begging for food, and swiping muffins or cookies every time they walked through the kitchen. We decided it was time to make dinner.
Leia had some leftover Read more [...]
